PRINCIPAL REPORT

Dear Parents,
Thank you to the many families who helped make the Debutante Ball on Saturday such a successful event. It was wonderful to see so many offering their assistance to make the night such a success. A huge thank you to Naomi Smith and Cayley Tonacia who coordinated the event. An event such as the Deb Ball is a great example of what a special communit y we have at St Brendan’s.
We wish the very best of luck to our PP5 swimming relay team of Amelia Walsh, Seth Harris, Mav Hatt y and Neve
Harris who will compete at the MacKillop carnival in Sydney on Thursday.

We are sure they will give their very best and more importantly, have fun and enjoy the experience. Next Tuesday we will be holding our school cross country. This year the event will be held at the Ganmain Sport s club using the golf course as our running track. The event will be commencing at 9:30am and we will require the assistance of any parent s who are available to act as
marshalls out on the course. The Diocese Cross Country carnival will be held on Monday May 1st in Griffith. We invite all members of our school communit y to our presentation of the Easter Story on Thursday April 6th at 10:00am. All of our student s will be involved in the retelling of the story of Holy Week through theatre, song and prayer. Following this we will be drawing our annual Easter Raffle.
This Friday we will be holding an Awards Assembly at 2:55pm. I t has been heartening to see the number of family members who have been attending our weekly assemblies and please remember, everyone is always welcome.

A reminder that bookings for Parent Teacher Meetings can now be made via Compass for this event which will be held on Tuesday April 4th. These meetings are an important part of the open communication between home and school and teachers have observations and data that they would like to share with parent s at this stage of the school year. I would like to thank Ms Kayla Butt for the excellent work that she has done at St Brendan?s throughout Term 1.
Kayla finishes at the end of the term and we wish her the very best for the future. Mrs Julie Guthrie returns in Term 2 and will work on Stage 2 for two days a week and will teach Visual Art s across the school. As we break up for holidays next Thursday I would like to take the opportunit y to thank all members of the St Brendan’s communit y for their support in what has been a
very busy term. I hope everyone has a happy, relaxing and Holy Easter.
Kind Regards,
Paul Spain

Stage2 Learning

Stage 2 have been working hard in maths and have found the area of their initials. They compared their findings to determine who had the initial with the largest area. They are amazing mathematicians who work collaboratively, demonstrate reasoning and seek
opportunities to extend their learning by questioning and wondering around the math’s they are working on. A great start to the year Stage 2.
